¿Mario Unsain, artist or luthier?
Both adjectives apply to this artist that has been transforming, since 1997, the ancient craftmanship of Luthier into the art of shaping and giving life to wood. Not only through music, but also through subtle shapes, hidden nooks in each sound, and the fine details that would elude the simple guitar builder. Mario combines illustration, sculpture and poetry, letting a part of his soul deeply rooted in each one of his works to achieve the musical carvings and magick typical of Dali’s surrealism, Calder’s acurate sense of balance Coltrane’s brilliant insanity and a personal signature that moves you deep within. Mario is to me, besides my brother, the Gepetto capable of growing the veins of each guitar, bass and hurdy-gurdy, like electrodes carrying the passion at reach only of who has made music and wood his life.
